Watch the conference "After the US Elections: The Futures of European Security and Transatlantic Cooperation" organized by "Wyborcza" and the American Studies Center of the University of Warsaw as part of the TEFI project.

Aleksander Kwasniewski, former president of Poland, Prof. Bohdan Szklarski, an insightful researcher of American politics are among distinguished speakers of the conference. We also invited experts from important European think-tanks: Joanna Stolarek, head of the Warsaw office of the Heinrich Böll Stiftung, Piotr Buras, head of the Warsaw office of the European Council on Foreign Relations, and Bartłomiej Kot from the Pulaski Foundation. And last but not least well-known scholars and well-known journalists not only from Poland.

We tackle the topics that have been bothering us since the night of 5-6 November, when it became clear that Donald Trump would return to the White House. Is the world in for a roller-coaster ride, or will the new administration merely change foreign policy accents? Is the end of NATO imminent, or will the alliance become even stronger thanks to Trump? What support can Ukraine count on? Will America under the new leadership stand up for human rights?

These are all pressing questions, and three months before the change of command in Washington D.C., we are navigating in the dark. I am counting on our panellists to at least lighten up a little of the gloom that has fallen over the world. We are living in such times that the slogan ‘it won't be so bad’ contains a large dose of hope.

The conference will be held at the headquarters of the Centre for American Studies of the University of Warsaw. We invite you to watch the broadcast on TEFI site.
